Reconnect with your heart this Valentines day (or any day!)

Find a quiet space (ideally) and find a comfortable position (seated or lying down). Bring your hand on your heart. Yup. Simple right? Too simple? But we don’t do it enough. When we place the palm of our hand on our heart, we notice our heart beat which helps us to reconnect with our bodies and slow our nervous system down.

Notice the breath in the heart space, and then deepen the breath into the back of the heart. When you first noticed the breath did you notice the front first? We do that, don’t we? We often think of the heart as the front only – don’t forget the heart is 3 dimensional!

We’re always leading with the front body too; going, doing and giving, but when we bring the breath into the back of the heart we’re allowing ourselves to receive, even if it’s as simple as receiving the breath.

After you’ve spent a few moments with your hand on your heart, gently remove and begin to notice the pulse in your finger tips. Your hands are an extension of your heart. We offer service, love and hugs with our hands!

You’re welcome to bring your hands back to the heart or leave them as they are, but keep noticing the heart beat. When you’re ready, tell your heart, “I am listening. I love you”

Repeat this as many times as you like, and see what comes up for you.

May you listen with love to the whispers of your heart.

Happy Valentine's day!
